Killer Hiding In Joliet Captured By SWAT Team: JPD

Joliet police and detectives converged in the 1400 block of Sehring Street around 11 p.m. looking for the Nashville murder suspect.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced a weekend arrest of a 49-year-old man accused of murdering his girlfriend two months ago in Nashville, Tennessee. Late Friday night, Joliet police surrounded a house in the 1400 block of Sehring Street after learning that Tennessee homicide fugitive Andra Christman was lurking around the Joliet area.

Knowing that the 49-year-old Nashville man was wanted for murder, the Joliet Police Special Operation Squad, Crisis Negotiator Team, and detectives from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department teamed up for the investigation and Christman surrendered to the Joliet SWAT team.

In December, Christman fatally shot his 31-year-old girlfriend while in Nashville, according to police. Christman was originally wanted for a probation violation warrant from Nashville for a weapons charge, however, following Christman’s arrest, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Detectives secured an arrest warrant for homicide.

A Nashville television station reported that Christman was wanted in the deadly shooting of Starlena Sullivan, whose body was found in a creek off Fairview Drive by a teen walking his dog in December.

Christman was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility and he now awaits extradition back to Tennessee.
