Knife Pulled In McDonald's Parking Lot: Joliet Police
Shamus French also had an active Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior charge of resisting a peace officer.

JOLIET, IL — For the fourth time this year, Joliet police have arrested 39-year-old Shamus French, with his latest arrest happening over the weekend as Joliet police say French pulled out a knife and attacked a man who supposedly owed him money. The violent confrontation happened in the McDonald's parking lot at 508 East Cass St., according to Joliet police.
After the Joliet squad cars converged on the McDonald's, French was taken away in handcuffs, and Joliet police say he also had a Will County warrant out for his arrest. Now in the Will County Jail, French has been charged with aggravated assault.
He was booked into his cell around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. The McDonald's incident happened about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

"French approached an adult male in the parking lot and told the victim that he owed money," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
He said that officers learned that French pulled a knife and threatened the victim with the knife.

"During the struggle between the two men, French dropped the knife to the ground. French was taken into custody without incident," English said.
Officers determined that French held an active Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior charge of resisting a peace officer, Joliet police advised.
Will County Jail records list French as having a post office box in Naperville.
