LAMB'S FOLD CELEBRATES LOCAL PHILANTHROPIC GROUP AT ANNUAL GALA

Local group of philanthropists honored at 31st Annual Lamb's Fold Dinner and Auction on Saturday, February 20th, at Bolingbrook Golf Club.

WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS - Lamb’s Fold Center for Women and Children will honor local group of female philanthropists during their 31st Annual Dinner and Auction on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Bolingbrook Golf Club. The evening will be filled with dinner, drinks, dancing, as well as live and silent auctions. Entertainment will be provided by the top-rated band “Final Say.” Limited tickets are still available at LambsFold.org or by calling 815-723-5262.

The honorees host their annual Witches Night Out event providing funds to local agencies serving women and children. The Committee has raised nearly $150,000 over the past several years benefitting Lamb’s Fold and a few other non-profit organizations.

Executive Director Rhonda Sykes shares that Lamb’s Fold “helps women and children who are homeless or abused.” She says, “The organization lifts them up, provides them shelter, food, clothing, and all of the basic necessities. It also provides a program to help them get back on their feet and eventually out on their own again.” Lamb’s Fold services the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, primarily in Will, Grundy, and Kendall Counties.

“Witches Night Out is something of an unconventional fundraiser but it has a serious purpose,” says Committee Co-Chair Kathy Mihilech. “The committee of 30 volunteers recognizes that social service organizations are struggling... It feels good to be recognized for our contributions to the Lamb’s Fold for the last six years but the ultimate satisfaction is knowing we are making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

Cynthia [Last name withheld for privacy purposes] is just one example of the single mothers who have been helped by Lamb’s Fold: “I was physically, mentally, and financially abused… Lamb’s Fold is one of the best things that have happened to me… I have received good training and secured a good job. I have also received legal help beyond imagination and so much support. I am on my way to being a stable mother and woman. I am so thankful to be a Lamb’s Fold resident.”
