Landscape Waste Pickup Resumes on April 1

Residents are reminded that waste must be placed in refuse containers or Kraft paper bags for pickup on the same day as trash collection.

Despite the snow currently covering the ground, spring starts in less than two weeks and the city of Joliet's landscape waste collection service resumes the week of April 1.

Yard waste must be contained in permanent-type, 33-gallon refuse containers identified with a “Yard Waste Only” or “Y” sticker or in 32-gallon disposable Kraft paper bags (no sticker necessary), according to a news release issued by the city. It is collected on the same day as a resident's normal trash collection.

Yard waste will not be picked up if it's left in plastic bags of any type or size or in containers larger than 33 gallons.
