Lane Closure on I-55 Northbound Exit to US 30

Will begin May 26 and should be completed by Friday, May 29.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that additional lane closures will be required for work on the northbound I-55 exit ramp to US 30 in Joliet beginning, weather permitting. Tuesday, May 26.

In order to complete the work, one of the two left turn lanes will be closed. The ramp will remain open to both eastbound and westbound US 30 at all times. The closure is expected to be removed Friday, May 29. This work is necessary for patching concrete pavement.

Other remaining work on the northbound and southbound exit ramps to US 30 includes diamond grinding pavement, sealing joints, concrete shoulder repair and striping. All work on the ramps is expected to wrap up in the next few weeks. Occasional daytime closures during off peak hours will be used to complete this work.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
