Latino Bar Association of Will County Honors Court Interpreter For Service
Vietnam veteran Ben Moreno was honored for his service to the community.

A long-time court interpreter was honored by the Latino Bar Association of Will County for his service to the community.
Ben Moreno was the inaugural recipient of the service award that will bear his name.
Moreno has been a court interpreter since 1976. He served in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969 and won two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars, said Will County Assistant State’s Attorney Jessica Colon-Sayre of the Latino Bar Association.

When he returned from Vietnam, Moreno opened a boxing gym for Joliet’s youth.
The award ceremony was held Friday night at the Blue Taco on North Chicago Street.
