Love's Travel Stop Gains Joliet's Approval

After months of debate, the city council voted in favor of the project on Tuesday night.

JOLIET, IL - After several more hours of additional public comments on Monday and again on Tuesday night, the Joliet City Council voted 6-3 and 5-3 respectively on two critical rezoning and annexation requests that will allow the Love's Travel Stop development near the intersection of Interstate 80 and Briggs Street, on Joliet's east side. The vote occurred around 8:40 p.m.

When it came to the critical votes, the following city elected officials were in favor of the project:

  1. Mayor Bob O'Dekirk
  2. Councilwoman Jan Quillman
  3. Councilman Larry Hug
  4. Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson
  5. Councilman John Gerl
  6. Councilman Pat Mudron
