JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old woman who used to live in Aurora is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Alexis Hudson sprayed Mace in the face of a BP gas station employee on McDonough Street. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Hudson already had three outstanding Will County arrest warrants at the time of the incident, Joliet police noted. She was taken away in handcuffs charged with battery, obstructing a peace office as well as the three warrants.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that Hudson entered the BP gas station and demanded water from an employee.

After Joliet police determined Hudson’s identity, English said, officers realized she held three Will County Warrants for the following crimes:

Hudson was identified as a suspect who, on June 13, at 11:31 p.m., stole a carton of cigarettes from the BP Joliet gas station, 1987 West Jefferson St. In that case, Hudson faces two counts of retail theft.

Hudson was also identified as a suspect who, at 5:13 p.m. on June 18, stole multiple bottles of liquor from Sugar Creek Liquors, 1200 Richards St. Joliet police charged her with retail theft for the crime at Sugar Creek Liquors.

Hudson's third arrest warrant is also for retail theft and that is a New Lenox Police Department case, English noted.

Hudson's bail has been set at $20,000. She remained in custody on Tuesday.
