Izzy's Murder Defendant Faces $10 Million Bail
Patrick Gleason was pummeled and held down for police by several Izzy's bar patrons who witnessed Friday morning's murder.

JOLIET, IL - The 55-year-old Crest Hill man accused of walking into Izzy's Bar on Theodore Street and pointing a gun at the head of bartender Danny Rios and killing him during a premeditated murder has a court hearing at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Courtroom 405 for the appointment of legal counsel. On Monday, the Office of Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow announced that 10 felony charges have been filed against murder defendant Patrick Gleason of the 1600 block of Dearborn Street.
Gleason was charged with five counts of first-degree murder in the death of Daniel Rios III, 52, of Joliet. Gleason also faces three counts of attempted murder in the shooting of Thomas Izquierdo, the son of the bar's owner. Lastly, Gleason faces two additional charges, aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a gun. Prosecutors say that Gleason fired his loaded gun at Artis Henderson while inside of Izzy's.
On Sunday, authorities at the Will County Adult Detention Facility released Gleason's mugshot, indicating that Gleason was booked into the county jail in downtown Joliet on Saturday afternoon. Since early Friday morning, the 55-year-old Gleason was hospitalized at Joliet's Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center after several patrons inside Izzy's Bar at 507 Theodore St. apparently saw Gleason walk into Izzy's around 1:15 a.m. Friday and fatally shoot 52-year-old bartender Danny Rios at close range.

If he gets convicted, he will never see the outside of a prison wall during the rest of his lifetime.
For now, Gleason's bail has been set at $10 million. In essence, he will need to come up with $1 million cash in order to bail himself out of jail. That is highly unlikely to happen.
