Man Dies In Joliet Industrial Accident: Coroner
OSHA has been notified and is also investigating the death.

JOLIET, IL - The Will County Coroner's Office announced that a 31-year-old Shorewood resident was killed Monday morning while at work in Joliet. The victim, Adrian Mejia, was pronounced dead at Silver Cross Hospital shortly before 9:30 a.m. Mejia had been working at AZZ Galvanizing in the 600 block of Mills Road in Joliet Township, where he was struck by a piece of construction material, the coroner's office said.
His death is being classified as an industrial mishap. The Will County Sheriff's Department and OSHA are investigating Mejia's death.
“It appears that a steel beam struck one of the employees,” Lt. Matt Groher with the East Joliet Fire Department told The Joliet Herald-News print newspaper.
