Man Arrested Near Union Station: Police

Dimitri Staley had passed out and was found with an open bottle of liquor, according to Joliet police.

JOLIET, IL - A 55-year-0ld man was cited by Joliet police over Labor Day weekend near Joliet's Union Station on charges of having liquor on a private parking lot open to the public and on charges of resisting arrest. The incident occurred near the new MyGrain Brewing Company, police said. The downtown business is gearing up for its grand opening later this week.

Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, MyGrain employees contacted the Joliet Police Department after finding Dimitri Staley, 700 block of West Liberty in Wheaton, passed out near their business, police said. The responding officers determined that Staley smelled like alcohol and he had an open bottle of Olde English malt liquor in his possession, police said.

When officers tried to remove him from the property, Staley tensed up and refused to leave, prompting the additional charge of resisting arrest, police said.
