Man Shoots Gun at Daughter After Beating Her: Cops

The Wilmington man shot a rifle at his daughter "several" times but missed her, police said.

A Wilmington man battered his daughter and shot a rifle at her Thursday night, police said.

Johnny Crawford, 60, was jailed early Friday on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault and domestic battery. He was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday afternoon.

Deputies sent to Crawford’s Strip Mine Road home “learned that (he) had battered his daughter and fired several shots from a .22-caliber rifle in the direction of his daughter,” police said.
