Man Shot In Both Legs On Meeker Ave: Joliet Police
Joliet police detectives placed Martell Lopez, age 27, into custody at his place of employment in Harvey.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police say they have solved this month's non-fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in the 400 block of Meeker Avenue with this week's arrest of 27-year-old resident Martell Lopez. Bail for Lopez, who comes from the 500 block of Silver Leaf Drive, is at $500,000.
Lopez is being charged with aggravated battery with a gun and aggravated discharge of a gun.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the shooting happened at 3:15 a.m. on July 9.

According to English:
- Officers found the 22-year-old man on the ground after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his legs.
- The victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries.
- During this investigation, detectives identified Lopez as their shooting suspect.
- Detectives placed Lopez into custody on Monday evening at his place of employment in Harvey. Lopez was then driven to the Joliet Police Department for processing and subsequently transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
