Man Shot In House On West Jefferson: Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old Joliet man was shot Wednesday night inside a house in the 1000 block of Joliet's busiest thoroughfare, West Jefferson Street. The shooter ran away before Joliet police cars arrived at the emergency. The shooting was reported at 7:37 p.m.
Officers found the gunshot victim at the house, and he suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his hand.
At this time, it is believed the victim was shot by a man in the residence, Joliet police noted.

The gunshot victim was taken by Joliet Fire Department ambulance to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center.
"This was an isolated incident," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English announced.

He said this is an active investigation in its early stages.
