Medical Pot Dispensary Now Open in Joliet

JOLIET, IL - A medical marijuana dispensary opened its doors in Joliet Monday.

3C Compassionate Care Center, located at 1627 Rock Creek Blvd., offers a variety of strains, including Maui Wowie, Purple Urkle and Jah Kush. Check with the store first since some quantities are limited.

The center, founded by Traci Fernandez, Hugo Fernandez and retired Will County Circuit Judge Robert Livas, aims to “deliver to the best possible medicine for people in need while funding research for curing neurological illnesses such as SCI, MS, ALS and more,” according to the website.

25 percent of 3C’s profits will be donated to charity and the economy of its host city, 20 percent will go to the United Paralysis Foundation and five perfect will go to Naperville and Joliet. The Naperville dispensary is set to open in mid-January at 1700 Quincy Ave., Unit 103.

“We’ll work with the cities to determine the best way that should be allocated,” Traci Fernandez said in a video on the center’s website. “Right now we’re thinking of helping veterans, people who cannot afford the medicine but need it and then to other charities in the cities that align with our mission.”

For more information and a list of what strains are available, visit 3C on Facebook. The Joliet store’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and closed Wednesday and Sunday.

The center is cash only and does not accept credit cards or checks. It also does not yet have an ATM. You must be registered to 3C Joliet to purchase from the center.
