Beginning Metalsmithing
(LLC 4915)
Learn the fundamentals of metalsmithing in this four week session. Basic skills in sawing, piercing, riveting, etching, annealing and soldering will be covered. Students will use these skills to create a variety of pieces, including a soldered pendant, etched bracelet and soldered ring. This workshop is ideal for the novice and beginner metalsmith. Tools, metal and supplies will be provided.

Fuse, Frame and Forge 2:
Studio Sessions in Glass and Metalsmithing (LLC 5005)
Learn how to combine fused glass with metal to create fantastic jewelry! In this four day hands-on workshop series, students will make fused glass components, and then utilize a variety of metalsmithing techniques to turn those fused glass pieces into stunning jewelry forms such as pendants, bracelets or cuffs, rings and earrings. Space is limited, so register early. Students with more experience will be guided into more advanced techniques.

Advanced Metalsmithing: Open Studio Session (LLC 5004)
Have you been wanting time to work independently in a fully equipped metals studio? Here’s your chance! This work intense, weekend studio session is designed for the intermediate and advanced metalsmithing student who would like to have studio time to work independently. Equipment available during the open studio session will include soldering torches, an etching bath, forming hammers, rolling mill, polishing wheels and flex shaft equipment. An instructor will be available to oversee the fabrication processes and troubleshoot problems. Basic hand tools will be provided. While solder and some copper will be provided, students should also bring their own metal.
