Missing Girl, 16, Loaded Gun Found At Joliet Traffic Stop: Police

Illinois State Police made the traffic stop at Larkin Avenue and McDonough Street in Joliet resulting in the discovery of the missing girl.

JOLIET, IL — A 16-year-old missing girl from DeKalb has been reunited with her family following Thursday evening's Illinois State Police traffic stop in Joliet that led to the arrest of Anthony Bogden, 22, of Joliet and Lamari Banks, 21, of Chicago.

The pair of arrests happened at Larkin Avenue and McDonough Street around 6:40 p.m. Bogden is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, while Banks is facing aggravated unlawful use of a weapon charges.

Illinois State Police said that a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a loaded gun. Nobody inside the car had a valid FOID card, and is a convicted felon.

"Also, during the investigation it was discovered that the backseat passenger was a 16-year-old female that had been reported missing out of Dekalb, IL since March 21," the state police announced.

Bogden and Banks are now being kept in the Will County Jail. Bogden's bail was set at $250,000 on Friday. He comes from the apartment units in the 900 block of Vine Street, on Joliet's near west side.

As for Banks, he comes from East 70th Place in Chicago. His bail was set at $50,000.
