Monee Man Charged With 4th DUI Offense: Criminal Complaint

Brian J. Austin of Monee faces a felony charge of aggravated DUI after being arrested on I-80 in Joliet by the Illinois State Police.

JOLIET, IL - A first conviction for DUI did not stop Brian J. Austin from drinking and driving. Neither did his second arrest and DUI conviction. A third conviction for DUI also did not deter the Monee man from getting behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang and driving while intoxicated, court documents show.

Now, the 42-year-old man who lives in the 6000 block of Ford Court faces a Class 2 felony charge of aggravated driving under the influence. According to the criminal complaint signed by Illinois State Police Trooper Ken Gurney, Austin was pulled over on June 12 while driving along I-80 in Joliet, marking his fourth arrest on the offense of driving under the influence. Records at the Will County Courthouse reflect that Austin had previous criminal violations for DUI in Cook County on Oct. 25, 2011, and in Will County on May 16, 2015 and again in Will County on Sept. 9, 2015.

In addition to facing the pending felony DUI charge, Austin faces several traffic infractions including driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper traffic lane usage.
