Construction Nightmares Ahead For These Joliet Motorists
The project will require significant traffic control to be installed for the duration of the project.

JOLIET, IL — On Tuesday, the city of Joliet issued a press release revealing that work on the Joliet Ottawa Water Main Improvement Project on Joliet Street and Ottawa Street between Jefferson Street and Jackson Street will begin on Monday, August 14.
According to the city: the project will proceed in two phases. The first phase consists of water main replacement on Ottawa Street and has an anticipated completion by November 17. The second phase consists of water main replacement on Joliet Street and has an anticipated completion of December 29.
The project will require significant traffic control to be installed for the duration of the project. Most of the work is planned for daylight hours and traffic will be able to travel through the construction zone. However, full road closures and night work will be required periodically throughout the project. Detour routes will be posted.
