More People Shot At Joliet's Riverwalk Homes Public Housing Complex Over The Weekend

JOLIET, IL — It seems like practically every week the Joliet Police Department finds its officers summoned to investigate a shooting, a bloody stabbing or a wild and crazy mob action incident at the former Evergreen Terrace property.

This time, it was a shooting.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:43 p.m. on Saturday, the officers responded to the Riverwalk Homes Apartments for a report of a man who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 26-year-old man in front of 311 North Bluff Street suffering from a gunshot wound to
the leg and arm.

Officers provided medical assistance until Joliet Fire Department paramedics arrived. The victim was transported by the Joliet Fire Department to Saint Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

"No additional victims were located, and no other injuries were reported," English revealed. "Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the motive and events leading up to the incident. No arrests have been made at this time."
