More Trespassing Charges For Joliet Man

Joliet Police officers arrested Jeffery Mahalick in October and September on charges of criminal trespassing at different locations.

JOLIET, IL — A 48-year-old Joliet man faces two felony charges of criminal trespass to a residence. It's the second straight month Joliet Police officers have arrested Jeffery Allan Mahalick on trespassing charges.

According last week's criminal complaint, Mahalick on Oct. 15, "without authority, knowingly entered the residence of another ... at 102 Stryker Avenue and remained in the residence after he knew or had reason to know that one or more persons was present."

On Sept. 3, Joliet Police also charged Mahalick with two counts of criminal trespass to property, in connection with a July 21 incident at Motel 6 near 1850 McDonough St.

In that case, the court records state, Mahalick "knowingly remained upon the land of another, Motel 6 ... after receiving notice from an agent of the owner to depart."

The second charge from the Joliet Motel 6 incident states that Mahalick had already received "notice from an agent of the owner, that such entry is forbidden."

Bail was set at $50,000 for Mahalick for his latest charges. The Joliet defendant, who has an address in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street, has been unable to post bond.

Mahalick also stayed in Will County's Jail for most of last year, from Feb. 9 until Nov. 30, after being arrested by the Will County Sheriff's Office on charges of battery, domestic violence and two charges of being a felon in possession of a gun, jail logs indicate.
