More Trouble At St. Joe's Hospital As Patient Attacks Female Employee, Second Worker Intervenes: JPD

JOLIET, IL — A 64-year-old man from New Lenox now finds himself facing charges from the Joliet police of aggravated assault and aggravated assault following an incident on Wednesday night at St. Joe's hospital.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 11:51 p.m., the officers responded to Saint Joseph Medical Center for a report of a patient causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival, he said the officers learned that Jeffery Darting had allegedly attacked the medical staff. Officers learned that Darting allegedly grabbed a female employee’s wrist, stood
up, and pushed her against a wall. It was further alleged that Darting raised his fist at another employee who attempted to intervene and threatened to harm them, English noted.

Following discharge from the hospital, Darting was placed into custody and charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a Notice to Appear in court.
