JOLIET, IL - A 36-year-old man who lives in Joliet finds himself incarcerated at the Will County Jail after Joliet Police say he beat up his girlfriend after returning home from the Morris Corn Fest. Now, Victoriano Avalos faces domestic battery charges. He was booked into Will County around 5 a.m. Sunday.

Joliet Police say that officers were called to Notre Dame Avenue and McDonough Street for a domestic battery. The victim told police she and Avalos attended the Corn Fest celebration in Morris earlier on Saturday night, reports indicate. An argument erupted on the way home and "as Avalos was driving he started hitting the victim in the face and head with a closed right multiple times. The victim stated when they were a few blocks from Avalos's residence, he pulled the vehicle over and exited it," police reports reflect.

The woman called police to report her boyfriend for domestic abuse and officers later found Avalos in the backyard of his residence, in the 2200 block of Capri Avenue.
