Motorcyclist Michael Moon Dies: Felony DUI Charges Filed
Amador Alipio, 53, made a left turn toward Eastern Avenue and his car struck the motorcycle, Joliet police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 53-year-old Joliet man is lodged in the Will County Jail facing felony DUI charges in connection with Sunday night's death of 39-year-old Harley-Davidson motorcyclist, Michael Moon, of Joliet.
Joliet police announced that Amador Alipio is being charged with aggravated DUI/motor accident resulting in death of another person, DUI/BAC over .08, DUI, obstructing justice and failure to yield while turning left.
Bail for Alipio, who lives in the 400 block of Joliet's Franklin Street, has been set at $500,000, jail logs show.

Sunday's fatal wreck occurred just before 8:15 p.m. on the east side, at Ohio Street and Eastern Avenue.
The 39-year-old Moon was driving his Harley eastbound on Ohio Street approaching North Eastern Avenue when the Toyota Camry driven by Alipio was westbound on Ohio Street, according to Joliet police.

Alipio made a left turn on to Eastern Avenue and his vehicle struck the motorcycle, which was still eastbound on Ohio Street, police reports show.
The 39-year-old man was ejected from his motorcycle as a result of the collision and was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department, where he was declared dead.
At the crash scene, "Alipio performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and he was taken into custody without incident," Police Sgt. Dwayne English said.
The Will County Coroner's Office announced the identity of the victim late Monday afternoon.
