Mysterious Man Knocking On Doors, Windows Asking For Help Arrested By Joliet Police: Cops

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced that a person who wandering around an east side neighborhood was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing his identification.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, on September at 10:39 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of North Eastern Avenue for a man knocking on a resident’s door
and window and asking for help.

The man even attempted to open the resident’s front door and continued knocking after the resident declined to assist him, causing the resident alarm, English noted.

Officers located a man matching the description in the 100 block of Jackson Street. During the investigation, the man allegedly provided multiple false names and initially refused to identify himself, English revealed. Officers subsequently identified him as Deonte Toliver, 19, out of Chicago.

"Toliver was identified as the individual involved in the incident on North Eastern Avenue and was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and
Obstructing Identification," English announced.

Toliver was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a Notice to Appear in court.
