88 Joliet Runners Compete in the Chicago Marathon

Joliet was well represented among the thousands of runners — from weekend warriors to elite athletes — who descended on Chicago on Sunday for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This year’s event drew participants from all over the world, with Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia shattering the course record.
Of the 45,000 people took part in the 2012 event, 88 of them were Joliet residents, according to race results posted on the marathon's website.
