Negligence at Joliet Nursing Home Led to Woman's Death: Lawsuit

It's alleged that multiple pressure sores led to her death at Fairview Care Center.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet nursing home has been sued over allegations that negligence resulted in the death of one of its residents.

From Aug. 30, 2013 and Sept. 20, 2013 Sylvia Raucci allegedly developed “multiple pressure sores that led to her death on Sept. 29, 2013” at Fairview Care Center of Joliet LLC, according to the Cook County Record.

Rosemarie Barry, an independent administrator of Raucci’s estate, claims staff “failed to properly and accurately assess her decedent's condition and failed in supervising the care and treatment to prevent the development and deterioration of multiple pressure sores,” according to the report.
