New $153K Roof For Slammers Stadium, Joliet Business Chosen For Job
The Joliet City Council will vote on the $152,850 expense at Tuesday night's meeting. City manager Jim Capparelli urges approval.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet City Council has been urged to hire Alder Roofing for $152,850 to install a new roof on the city-owned Joliet Slammers baseball stadium located at 1 Mayor Art Schultz Drive.
The Council is expected to vote on the contract at Tuesday night's meeting.
City Manager Jim Capparelli is urging approval. According to his memo, the Slammers Stadium was built in 2002 and the existing roof envelope is original and "has degraded to the point it is no longer repairable and must be recovered."

According to Capparelli, many active leaks are causing interior damage to the stadium suites, restrooms and press box area. The area being replaced covers the concourse and is approximately 21,600 square feet, he noted.
The city of Joliet received the following bids on the project:

- Adler Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. $152,850.
- Seal Tight Exteriors Inc. $204,800.
- Elens Maichin Roofing & Sheet Metal $209,850.
The city of Joliet's engineering estimate for the project was $200,000.
