New ALDI Store Opening In November Near Black Road

People who live in the Shorewood area will be thrilled to have a new ALDI in their village.

SHOREWOOD, IL — Shorewood village administrator Jim Culotta learned this week that the new ALDI store being built near the Home Depot at Black Road and Route 59 will be opening in less than one month.

The building's address is 665 Brook Forest Ave.

"We are excited to welcome ALDI, one of America's best large employers, to Shorewood," Culotta said. "ALDI's investment in our community brings a great new shopping experience and builds upon Shorewood's reputation as an excellent place to open a new business."

ALDI notified Joliet Patch's editor on Thursday that ALDI plans to become the third largest U.S. grocery retailer in terms of stores by the end of 2022.

"ALDI continues to set the standard for quality and affordability, and now even more Shorewood residents can join the millions of shoppers who come to ALDI for premium food at great prices when the store opens on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m.," the company notified Patch in a news release on Thursday.

The Shorewood store will be open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We are proud to open this new Shorewood store, and we look forward to doing what we do best, which is ensuring the communities we serve have access to the groceries they need at the lowest possible prices," said Heather Moore, Dwight division vice president for ALDI, in Thursday's news release.
