New Bride Suffers Devastating Loss

When Kristy and Mike Centeno got married just five weeks ago, they thought they had their whole life in front of them. But fate dealt them a cruel hand when Mike died unexpectedly from an undiagnosed medical condition.

He died Tuesday, Dec. 15. His hunting dog, Bullet, stayed by his side as Mike lay dead in a Joliet hunting field, according to Kristy’s aunt, Mary Sartor.

Kristy, a Joliet resident, recently learned she was pregnant, an otherwise joyous occasion that turned dark as Kristy mourns the loss of her husband.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Kristy during her time of mourning.

“As her family prays that the Light of Eternal Hope will guide Kristy during this time of darkness, we ask for your help,” Sartor said.

All proceeds will help pay for immediate expenses and hopefully provide for the future needs of the baby.
