New Joliet Restaurant 'A Comfort Cafe For Everybody'
Pit Stop Corner Cafe opened in January at 2050 S. Chicago Street in Joliet. It's open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

JOLIET, IL — If you are looking for a new Joliet restaurant that makes "homemade food" and promotes "that our price is not expensive," then you'll have to check out Pit Stop Corner Café.
Pit Stop opened in January along Route 53, at 2050 S. Chicago St. The customer base is split between people from the Joliet and over the road truck drivers.
"The owner was a truck driver, and he wanted truck drivers to have a reasonable price. It's a comfort café' for everybody," one of Pit Stop managers told Joliet Patch during a recent interview. "It really is unique for Joliet. Our price is not expensive.

Pit Stop Corner Café is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. It's dine-in and carryout.

Pit Stop Corner Cafe offers Italian flavored coffees and an assortment of pastries as well as breakfast sandwiches including bacon, egg and cheese. One of the most popular menu items is the "Pit Stop sandwich. Some people say it's the best steak sandwich they ever had in the country," the manager remarked. "The panini sandwich are really good too."
As far as dinner items go, the manager at Pit Stop Corner Coffee said the teriyaki salmon has been a hit with the customer base.
In addition to truckers, Pit Stop also gets a lot of customers from the area's warehouses, including Amazon and IKEA. "The people come here just to have coffee too," he noted. "The coffee's a big deal here, too."
Pit Stop Corner Cafe is not part of any chain. It's managed by Murad "Moe" Ayyash.
"We are looking for hardworking, motivated people," he said, referring to the fact that Pit Stop Corner Cafe is currently hiring baristas and cooks.
