New Photos: Will County Courthouse Construction In Joliet

Union contractors are making significant progress this month at the old First Midwest Bank property in downtown Joliet.

JOLIET, IL - Thanks to a break in the weather, dozens of union tradesmen building the new 10-story Will County Courthouse in downtown Joliet are making tremendous progress. If the ongoing construction keeps up at this current rate, the new courthouse should be ready to be open by summer. OK, OK, that's a bit overly optimistic. Honestly, the new courthouse is slated to open in two years, 2020.

Anyway, if you're traveling over the Jefferson Street Bridge past Joliet's City Hall or you're heading downtown to visit the Joliet Harrah's Casino, you will be amazed at the work taking place.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13-14, Joliet Patch captured the following images to give you a glimpse of how your Will County tax dollars are being put to use on this $215 million capital project.
