'Next Time I See You, It Is Not Going To Be Good For You," Joliet Man Tells His Victim: Prosecutors

JOLIET, IL — Donald Green Jr., a 36-year-old man from the 300 block of Western Avenue, must remain in the Will County Jail under the dangerousness standard set forth by the Illinois SAFE-T-Act, Will County Judge Donald DeWilkins ruled last week.

Green, who has a history of domestic battery, including a 2024 sentence of 30 months at the Illinois Department of Corrections, now faces new charges of intimidation and two crimes of violating an order of protection.

According to the prosecution's filing, on June 1, at 2:30 p.m., a woman went to the Joliet police station to report the order of protection violation. She indicated she has an order against Green that was served and remains active. The order indicates Green cannot have any contact with her.

In spite of that, Green texted the woman between May 5 and June 1, plus leaving her several voicemail messages from April 2 through May 26. The woman played some of the voicemails for the Joliet police and the one from April 2 declared, "Next time I see you, it is not going to be good for you," while another one informed her, "If you keep playing with me, I will cut this thing off and it will get bad for you," the court documents show.

Prosecutors informed the judge that Green is on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections and he has an ankle bracelet for the prior domestic battery he committed against the same woman. The woman indicated to the police that "they have children together, but they do not live with her and are in DCFS custody. Green advised officers that (the woman) contacted him first and that they have constant communication via text messaging and phone."
