Nightmare On Hickory Snitch Set Free From Prison

Alisa Massaro was released from prison on Friday. Do you think she has rehabilitated herself?

JOLIET, IL - Ever since 2013, there was always one constant surrounding the notorious Nightmare on Hickory Street murders of Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins in Joliet. The people responsible for these heinous killings remained locked away from society, incarcerated, living in steel cages, unable to bring harm or death upon anyone else. But that's no longer the case. On Friday, one of the masterminds of the Nightmare on Hickory killings, Alisa Massaro, was turned loose by the Illinois Department of Corrections. She was paroled. Of course, timing is everything. On Monday, Massaro turns 24 years old. She will get to enjoy her birthday outside the walls of an Illinois prison for the first time in her twenties.

Earlier this month, Joliet Patch brought you two exclusive stories revealing Massaro's parole date was nearing and interviewing neighbors who live on Hickory Street. In May 2014, Massaro drew a 10-year prison term that gave her good time credit and meant she would be out of prison in another three years and eight months. Massaro, along with Bethany McKee, 20, Josh Miner, 26, and Adam Landerman, 21, all were charged with the January 2013 murders. Massaro and McKee lured them to Massaro's Hickory Street nightmare house, according to police reports.

After the killings, Josh Miner and Alissa Massaro had sex atop the dead men's bodies. Miner and his friends hatched the scheme to rip off Rankins and Glover because they were broke and wanted to buy cigarettes and alcohol, a Will County prosecutor revealed at McKee's trial.

RECENT COVERAGE: Alisa Massaro Not Welcome On Hickory Street Anymore

Now that Massaro has regained her freedom, people around Joliet are asking a few questions.

  1. Where is she staying now?
  2. Does she intend to return to her Nightmare on Hickory Street lair and resume her wicked lifestyle?
  3. Has the Illinois penal system reformed Massaro for the better?

Massaro's family has strong ties to Joliet and Shorewood. Her father, according to the Hickory Street neighborhood, has been staying at the Hickory Street house after living in Shorewood for a while. Concerned neighbors are keeping an eye on the place.

They are watching for signs of Alisa Massaro's return to 1121 N. Hickory St.

Because Massaro was convicted of robbery, her name does not appear on the Illinois State Police Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry.
