Nitrous Oxide At Super 8 Motel Lands Plainfield Man In Jail: Police

JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old Plainfield man was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the Will County Jail following an incident involving laughing gas at the Super 8 Motel at 3401 Mall Loop Drive, according to Joliet police arrest reports.

Mark Osmolski was booked into the jail on charges of domestic battery.

At 10:07 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the Super 8 Motel for a disturbance.

Officers determined that Osmolski sprayed a can of nitrous oxide gas at a 54-year-old relative during an argument in a guest room at the motel.

Osmolski was on scene and was placed into custody without incident.

The victim suffered minor burns to his arm and abdomen. Joliet Fire Department paramedics responded to the Super 8, but medical assistance was refused.

According to jail logs, Osmolski has been incarcerated on four different occasions since 2020. His bail was set at $30,000 for the laughing gas incident at Super 8 Motel. A resident of the 243000 block of Plainfield's Lesky Lane, Osmolski walked out of the Will County Jail on Tuesday evening after posting 10 percent of his $30,00 bail.
