Nunez: Portrait of Patch Athlete of the Month

Each month during the the high school sports season, the team at Joliet Patch recognizes Patch's Athlete of the Month with a portrait shot such as the one above of Joliet Central discus standout Favio Nunez.

Nunez, 6-2 and 185 pounds, placed seventh in the Class 3A boys track and filed meet in the discus event. He recorded a throw of 159-0 to earn all-state honors. 

Nunez was selected as Joliet Patch's Athlete of the Month for May from a list of Patch MVP weekly winners by Patch Local Editor Ron Kremer.

The other weekly winners were Marquisha Crosby (Joliet Central girls track), Dahmone Bluford (Joliet Central girls track) and Sean Swabowski (Joliet Central boys track).
