O’Dekirk's Re-Election: Will County Labor Unions Endorse Joliet Mayor
Mayor O'Dekirk said, "We hope to keep the jobs and businesses coming with the ongoing construction of the Houbolt Road Bridge" and I-80.

JOLIET, IL —Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk was formally endorsed by the Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades Council AFL-CIO in support of his campaign to be re-elected to a third term, union officials announced in Wednesday's press release.
“Doc” Gregory, president of the Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades Council, informed O’Dekirk of his endorsement in a letter that stated in part “The position of Mayor … demands that the person elected … possess the necessary skills, high ideals, professionalism, knowledge and experience to serve the citizens of Joliet. The officers and members of the Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades Council proudly and unanimously endorses and supports your candidacy for re-election.”
The Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades Council represent the following labor unions who have constructed public and private developments in Joliet: boilermakers, bricklayers, carpenters, cement masons, dry waller finishers, electricians, elevator constructors, glaziers, heat & frost insulators, iron workers, laborers, millwrights, painters, pipe fitters, plasterers, plumbers, operating engineers, roofers, sheet metal workers, sprinkler fitters and teamsters.

“I am honored to have the support of the building trades men and women," O'Dekirk said in the press release. "We hope to keep the jobs and businesses coming with the ongoing construction of the Houbolt Road Bridge and Interchange on I-80 as well as the revitalization of the Joliet City Center. There are literally dozens of new projects and business expansion projects in Joliet being planned by business owners that should keep our trades people very busy for the foreseeable future.”
O'Dekirk is running for re-election against Terry D'Arcy, president of D'Arcy Motors. A third candidate is also on the ballot, Tycee Bell.
