Alexandra Leal
Alexandra Leal, age 77, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by the love of her family. Alexandra was born on December 20, 1948, in Pharr, Texas, to the late Manuel and Ramona (nee Sanchez) Garcia.

Alexandra was the oldest of eight siblings and carried the role with warmth and love. A very social, caring, and friendly woman she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. Known for her generous spirit, she was always giving of herself and helped others whenever she could. Alexandra loved to crochet, and had a wonderful sense of humor, bringing laughter to those around her. Deeply religious, her faith was an important part of her life and guided the kindness and compassion she showed to others.
Alexandra is survived by her siblings, Graciela Garcia, Sylvia Marie (Sonny) Rios, Marzo (Alice) Venegas Jr., Antonio Venegas, Yolanda (Don) Carr, Linda Gadas, and Tina Carpentaro, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering for Alexandra Leal will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. Private family inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park II. Due to her request, cremation rites have been accorded.
