Obituary: Allen Edward Triplett

A faithful parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and longtime local resident passes away at the age of 67.

Allen Edward Triplett

Allen Edward Triplett, passed away peacefully at the age of 67, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, surrounded by the love of the family. Allen was born in Chicago, IL, on August 9, 1955, the son of the late Alfred and Phyllis (nee Lenza) Triplett. He was a graduate of Tinley Park High School and received his Associates Degree from Harper College in Palatine, IL. Allen retired after over 40 dedicated years as an Operations Manager. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Allen had a passion for all sports. He enjoyed attending numerous Indy 500 races throughout the years, religiously watching the Kentucky Derby and the Masters tournament, and cheering on the Chicago White Sox. Not only was he a devoted Chicago Blackhawks fan, but he enjoyed playing the sport as well. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and was a staple at his grandchildren’s sporting events. If you knew Allen you loved him, and if you didn’t, you missed out!

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia Ann (nee Reese) Triplett; his daughter, Karen (Bob) Cassidy; two grandchildren, Keely and Cameron Cassidy; siblings, Andy Triplett and Allison Triplett; his brother-in-law, Robert (Maureen) Reese; and his sister-in-law, Sandy (the late William) Reese. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A Memorial Gathering for Allen Edward Triplett will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prostate Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
