Obituary: Amparo Padilla

Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passes away peacefully at the age of 79.

Amparo (nee Guerrero) Padilla, age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Edward Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Bernie) Arteaga, Leticia (Hermes) Padilla, Luis R. (Martha Serrano) Robles, Maricela (Pedro Garcia) Padilla, Hermelindo (Leticia) Padilla, Jr., and Vanessa Padilla; 11 grandchildren, Monica, Andy, Gabriel, Mike, Andrea, Alex, Christian, Ricardo, Ariana, Jordan and Sophia; and her siblings, Rachael Guerrero, Rosemary Rembos, Deacon Manuel Guerrero, Fernando Guerrero and Alice Moctezuma. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation for Amparo Padilla will be Friday, January 18, 2019, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral Services will be Saturday, at 9:45 a.m., from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 129 S. Division St., Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends will meet directly at the Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery Interment Chapel, 87th and Hamlin Ave., Evergreen Park, for Committal Prayers and Interment at 1:00 p.m. For more information, please call 815-741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
