A longtime Joliet resident who emigrated to the United States in 1970 has passed away at the age of 98.

Age 98, of Joliet, IL, passed away, Monday, April 12, 2021 at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born April 7, 1923 in San Vittorino, Italy. She emigrated to the United States in 1970, where she settled in Joliet.

Angiolina was a member of the Church of St. Anthony and the American Italian Cultural Society. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and being a homemaker, and the occasional trips to the casino. Angiolina spent much time traveling to Italy throughout her life.

She is survived by her three children, Fiore Alberico of Joliet, IL, Antonio (Lauretta) Alberico of Henderson, NV and Maria (Pasquale) Carestia of Joliet, IL; six grandchildren, Sylvia (Gerardo) Zepeda, Laura (Carlos) Flores, Antonio Alberico II, Anna Maria (Gary) Binkley, Secondina (Jason) Doyle, and Pasquale (Marianna) Carestia, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Alejandro and Carina Zepeda, Angelica, Ariana and Adriano Flores, Christina (Lucas) Hayden, Adam Doyle, Paolo Binkley, Maria and Maggie Gukasian; two great-great-grandchildren, Harper and Amelia Hayden; four sisters, Maria, Adele, Conchetta and Marianna (the late Ralph); and one brother, Ted (Lorraine); numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paolo Alberico (1998); and her parents, Luigi and Santa (DelRaso) Brandolino.

Visitation for Angiolina Alberico will be Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington Rds.), Joliet from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Facemasks are required and capacity restrictions will be observed. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Church of St. Anthony, 100 N. Scott St., Joliet, IL 60432, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
