Age 57, of Joliet, IL passed away Friday evening, May 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her family after a long and brave battle of Covid and related complications.

Sula was born in Greece December 4, 1964 the daughter of the late Agnes (nee Karagounis) and Akilas Tolios. She was a longtime area resident and you may remember her being the local business owner, years ago, of Samy’s Bar and Grill. She attended Troy Grade Schools and Joliet West High School.

She is the beloved wife of Lloyd Tinsman; loving mother of Christina (Tracy) Kuykendall and Alexander Andrew; and proud “Yia Yia Mom” of Owen, Charlie and Benjamin. Also surviving are her brother, Athanasios “Tom” (Melissa) Tolios; uncle, Nickolas Tolios; and her cousins, including Terry (Sue) Tolios, Athena (Chris) Vlahous as well as other relatives here and in Greece.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Sula, a very adventures woman who was proud of her Greek heritage, truly treasured being with her family. She loved to cook as well as travel, especially back home to Greece. Other favorites included cruising with Lloyd on his Harley and the occasional visit to the casino. Nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with her grand babies and spoiling them with her love.

Visitation for Sula will be Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. with prayer services (Trisagion) at 6 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Funeral services Friday, May 20, 2022 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church 102 N. Broadway St., Joliet where services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park II Cemetery.
