Barbara Jo Kosarko, passed away at the age of 81, on Monday, February 26, 2024, at The Parc in Joliet. Barbara was born on December 6, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (nee Stojkovich) Zarkovich. Born and raised in Chicago, Barbara was a graduate of Sacred Heart Croatian Grade School and St. Peter and Paul Catholic High School, with the Class of 1960. She also attended Moser Secretarial School.
Barbara was proud of her Croatian heritage. She loved gardening, was a big Elvis fan, and loved to watch game shows! Barbara loved her family more than anything and was vocal with how proud of everything her daughter and granddaughter accomplished in life.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Bauc; granddaughter, Gabriella DiFiore; one sister, Dorothy (the late Ernest) Pancer; nephews, Eric (Sara Stec), David (Melissa) and Christopher (Jessica) Pancer; and great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Aaron, Leila, and Wesley Pancer.
She is preceded by her parents; and daughter in infancy, Barbara Jo Kosarko (Oct 13, 1971).
Visitation for Barbara J. Kosarko will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately by the family at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorials made in her name to Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
