Betty Joann VanHouten (nee Sandy)

Betty Joann (nee Sandy) VanHouten, 93, passed away March 17, 2026. Born September 20, 1932, in Holland, Michigan. She was the daughter of Neil and Johanna (Wolters) Sandy.

She enjoyed gardening and reading and was deeply devoted to her faith in Christ and her church.

Betty will be remembered for her love of family and her strong faith.

Betty is survived by her sons, Charlie (Sandy) and David VanHouten; and her daughter, Betty (Herschel) Fisher; along with eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie VanHouten; parents; her brothers, Edwin (Pat) and Russell (Eileen) Sandy; her sister, Patricia (Gordan) Breuker; her son, Steven; and her daughters, Kristie (Dennis) Cannon and Linda VanHouten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Park Church,614 Myrtle Ave, Holland, MI 49423.
