Carolyn S. Nichols-Hatchett
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Carolyn S. Nichols Hatchett on May 4, 2022, at the age of 79. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Debra Hatchett and grandson Kasey, and her son Richard Hatchett; along with her companion of many years Robert Anderson; and her sister Patsy Rodrigue. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Lency and Virgil Nichols.

She was raised in Mt. Vernon, IL, and started a solo practice as an insurance broker in Joliet, IL. Later she received a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from Lewis University and a Master of Health Science in Addictions Counseling from Governors State University.
She studied opera and was a talented singer and pianist, sharing her love of music with her children. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Joliet and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

A visitation and prayer service will be held on Monday May 9, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. A private burial service will be held in Mt. Vernon, IL at a later date.
