Cecilia Ann Garecht (nee VonDeBur)
Cecilia Ann Garecht of Joliet, passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Monday, January 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Springfield, IL, on February 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Frank and Juanita (nee Welsh) VonDeBur.

Cecilia retired from the St. Joseph Hospital after 20 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening and sitting outside watching the birds and the squirrels.
Cecilia is survived by her children, Charles Garecht, Patricia (Ira) Couch III, Robert (Judith) Garecht, Michael Garecht, and George (Dana) Garecht; grandchildren, Kevin, Amber, Alyson, Charles Jr., Krystal. William, Tiffany, Ira IV, Jessica, Robert Jr., Cody, Hunter, and Christopher; several great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Cathy) VonDeBur; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband William C. Garecht; brothers, Robert VonDeBur and George VonDeBur; and sister, Katie Brown.
As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded. Private family service will held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Arrangements entrusted to Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet, IL.
