Obituary: Cecilia Jacobo de Zamudio

Her life's journey was rooted in love, with her presence being a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Cecilia Jacobo de Zamudio

Age 91, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Crest Hill, IL. She was born on November 22, 1933, to the late Gregoria Leal and Espirilion Jacobo in Mexico.

Cecilia immigrated to the United States 65 years ago and settled in the Joliet area. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed listening to music. She spent her life caring for her family.

She is survived by her loving children, Rosendo (Anna Maria) Zamudio, Lilia (Noe Aguilera) Zamudio, Jesus (Reyna) Zamudio, Niva (Carlos Padilla) Zamudio; her dear grandchildren, Cristian Miguel, Marco Antonio, Miguel, and Jazmin Zamudio; Esbeidy, Lesly, and Sherlyn Aguilera; Brian (Alexys Jacquez) Zamudio, Kimberly, Kaylee, and Julissa Zamudio; Aylin (Christopher Gomez) Padilla, Carlos-A and Atziry Padilla; adoring great-grandchildren, Santiago Zamudio, Armando Camarena, and Thiago Aguilera; her sister, Balvina Jacobo; many nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive.

Visitation for Cecilia Jacobo de Zamudio will be Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., from the funeral home to St. Dominic Catholic Church, 404 E. Briarcliff Rd., Bolingbrook, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
