Clinton Wayne Flint

Clinton Wayne Flint, age 65, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away suddenly, on Monday, September 1, 2025, shortly after returning from an enjoyable weekend bike trip. He was born on March 24, 1960, in Joliet, the son of the late George and Frances (nee Watson) Flint.

He’d give you the shirt off his back, lend a hand, or talk your ear off for hours. He had a hug that could nearly break your ribs, and he wasn’t shy about letting you know he “knew it all” — and usually, he wasn’t wrong.

Clint logged more than 3 million miles as a truck driver, and in semi-retirement, he proudly shared his experience by teaching the next generation at Advantage Driver Training. He was also a devoted member of the Elks Lodge, serving as Past Exalted Ruler and, most recently, as Trustee.

We are all heartbroken to lose him. Clint had a big personality, a big heart, and a deep love for his family. Just a few months ago, he shared, “Don’t be sad when I die… I’ve had a good life and I’ve had a lot of fun… I did what I wanted to do.” That was Clint — honest, tough, and grateful for the ride.

Clint is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janice (Crumley) Flint, who stood by his side through life’s ups and downs. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. He was a proud dad to Amy (Flint) Cone and her husband, Daniel, and he adored his grandkids, Raelynn and Easton, who lit up his world. He was also a loving father to Stephen Flint and his wife, Kayla, and cherished every moment with his grandson, Cameron, including proudly teaching him how to drive.

Clint had a big heart and never met a stranger. His cousins and many friends were like siblings to him, and he loved them all as family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances Flint, and his brother Kenneth Flint, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.

He leaves behind family and friends who will miss his laugh, his stories, and the way he made everyone feel welcome.

A Memorial Gathering for Clint will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. All attending are asked to wear your favorite Harley gear and/or Carhartts. Due to his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
