Obituary: David Allen Krakar
David was the co-owner and operator, along with his brother, Marcus, Jr., of Krakar Manufacturing Company.

David Allen Krakar, age 79, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with his loving family by his side.
Born August 27, 1939 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Marcus and Bernice (nee Felbinger) Krakar, Sr., and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. David was the co-owner and operator, along with his brother, Marcus, Jr., of Krakar Manufacturing Company, which was founded by their father. He was very active in the community serving as a member and officer of numerous organizations including the Jaycees, Exchange Club, Rotary, Lions Club, and various veterans’ groups. Dave also was an avid golfer and cherished the time he was able to spend with his dog, Tigger.

He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Shelli (Lovell) Hatfield of Joliet, IL, Tracy (Tom) Johnson of Joliet, IL, and Bethany (Matthew) Bruss of Wabash, IN; four grandchildren, Timothy Hatfield, Terri (Dennis) Konkowski, and Jacob and Rebecca Bruss; one great-granddaughter, Ella Eve Konkowski; two sisters, Judith (Douglas) Martin and Barbara Kennedy; a sister-in-law, Patricia Krakar; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen J. (nee Taylor) Krakar, (January 19, 2017); and one daughter, Terry Krakar. His brother, Marcus Krakar, Jr. passed away two days following David.
A Memorial Gathering for David Krakar will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., at Friendship Baptist Church, 15801 South Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m., in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where military honors will be accorded under the auspices of the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad and the United States Air Force.
