Dave worked for many years for Lindblad Construction. He was a faithful member of Laborers Local 75 of the union workers. He served as a union organizer for the Chicago District Council until his retirement in 2005. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet where he went to grade school and served mass. He was an avid gardener growing a bountiful garden that fed his neighbors, family and friends. They affectionately called him “The Tomato Man” because when he saw you, he always asked, “Do you need more tomatoes?” He had a passion for fishing and ice fishing, the Chicago White Sox and watching his sons and later his grandchildren play sports. He loved being a comedian at family and friend gatherings and was also known as a real prankster as he enjoyed people and life. He was also quite the handy man repairing cars, building much of his own home, helping his sons with their homes as well as repairing almost anything that was broken. They called him “Mr. Fix It.”
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Karen Terdic, three great sons Matt (Stephanie), Andy and Chris. Sisters and brothers Bob (Carol) Terdic, Dick (Leona deceased), Mary Ann (Tom deceased) Schreiber, and Kathy Frank) Riley. Twin grandchildren Madison and Caleb Terdic and numerous nieces and nephews.
